How replacement works
We start with the door you have, because repairing it is sometimes the simpler answer.
Request an onsite inspection
Tell us where the door is and what’s wrong. Mention roughly how old the door is, if you know. Photos are optional.
We visit and inspect
At your property, a technician looks at the frame, glass, track and moving parts and tells you whether repair or whole-door replacement is the better choice. If repair will do, we say so.
You decide
Replacement goes ahead only once you’ve agreed to the plan and the price.
Repair or replace: the questions that decide it
Is the frame sound? A frame that is straight and undamaged gives a repair a solid base. A bent or corroded one tends to bring the trouble back, whatever is fitted to it.
Is the glass intact? Cracked glass, or glass that has fogged between its layers, can’t be fixed by adjusting the door.
Can the parts be found? Older and less common doors can be hard to match. If the parts aren’t available, repair may not be an option.
What to expect
This page covers replacing the whole door. Every door and opening is different, so we can’t say what a replacement involves until we’ve seen yours. If only the glass is damaged, mention it in your request and we’ll tell you what we can do.
Repair or replace?
- Repair may still be practical if the frame is straight and the glass is intact
- Replacement tends to make more sense when the frame is bent or corroded, glass has failed, or parts can’t be found
- A repair that has failed more than once is a sign to look at the whole door
What affects the cost
- The condition of the door and the parts that have worn
- Whether matching parts are available for your door
- The size and type of door, and what the opening needs
- Whether the existing door and frame can be removed and reused
- Access to the door, such as floor level and space to work
We don’t list prices, because they depend on these factors. We confirm the price after the onsite inspection, before any work goes ahead. Our technician carries common rollers and parts, so many repairs are finished in one visit.

FAQs
Common questions
How do I know if I need a new sliding door?
Signs include a bent or damaged frame, cracked or fogged glass, repairs that don’t last, and parts that can’t be found. We confirm after looking at the door.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace?
Repair is often the smaller job when the frame and glass are sound. If they aren’t, repairing may cost you twice. We’ll tell you which we think is better value for your door.
Can I choose the style of the new door?
Tell us what you’re hoping for in your request and we’ll talk through the options when we follow up.
